Going Green
What does "Going Green" mean?
According to the US Green Building Council -
Design and construction practices that significantly reduce or
eliminate the negative impact of buildings on the environment
and occupants.
We at Graeber Design understand that more and more consumers
are becoming environmentally conscious, they are seeking to find
ways to create green spaces at home. And anyone can do it. It
is all in the sustainable materials you select. Even if your home
isn't architecturally green friendly, your interior can
be.
The goal of sustainable design is a lesser impact on the environment.
Our goal is to work with you the client to determine what can
be done in your home to ensure the following principles: recycle,
reclaim/reuse, non-toxic, and sustainability.
There are various materials now available that can help homeowners
become more environmentally responsible. Sustainable materials
include flooring made from bamboo, cork, bark, and reclaimed hardwood,
VOC-free paint (paints which that do not release significant
pollutants) and furniture/woodwork constructed from wood certified
by the Forest Stewardship Council.
So if your wanting your home's interior to be a healthier, more
Eco Friendly space, we hope you'll allow us to help you achieve
that goal.
